Case Study: Predictive Maintenance of Tinting Machines Using AI for DESO
For DESO, which supplies software for window tinting machines in hobby stores across Europe, we developed a set of AI tools in Python. These tools predict machine malfunctions before they occur, recommend moving machines between stores, and a service assistant helps even less experienced operators.
Maintenance Based on Data, Not After a Failure
Until now, paint-tinting machines were only repaired after they broke down. Clogged nozzles, dried-up paint, or worn-out bearings meant unplanned downtime right on the sales floor. Technicians used to record repairs briefly and without context, so the causes of malfunctions could not be systematically analyzed. Today, they dictate service reports to an assistant—even while driving—and this data refines the predictive model.
